Jax is relaxing in his cozy little 1br apartment thinking about butts, probably.

NOTICE – This is just the beginning of a larger project!

This scene will act as my first game engine test, as well as serving as my next big animation post.

I have put together a convincing apartment flat where a VR POV experience will take place. Along with the game experience, I will have a regular video as well, non-interactive. I may also do a 360 video too.

The idea for the animation is that Jax brings home a little treat for himself. A micro (you) in a small sphere pill. This is Jax’s first time with the pill since he doesn’t pred often!

The full animation will include external shots of Jax wandering around his apartment on the phone with a friend while you look on from your little clear prison. Finally, he’ll pick you up and attempt to ingest you. He hesitates and fails momentarily before trying again and you go down into his stomach. Where you’ll be carried for awhile as Jax goes about his night. You’ll then proceed to the bowels and travel along slowly towards the exit. Where you’ll be dumped onto a towel. I’m not exactly sure what should happen next.

The goal is to have this all occur within Unreal Engine 5. Complete with accurate audio. The first post will probably be a normal render like my previous posts leading up to the swallow. I think that’s enough content to wrestle with. Additionally, I want to finish Jax’s fur and see how it can be added to UE5. I know UE5 has a fur shader now but I don’t know how heavy it is.

This will give me an idea of the following:

  • Will fur be possible with my game project?
  • If not, what other options are there? Fur cards? Sculpted fur? Geo fur?
  • Is a VR experience possible to deliver to an audience?
  • Can I set up the game to output to both VR and non-VR viewers?
  • Is it easy to provide a YCH opportunity to game projects?

Expect an animation update on the 15th of August. I wanted to have one out today but I didn’t want to rush this one. With VR being the goal experience, I wanted the apartment to look good from any angle. It took awhile to source and/or make the assets to fill the space. I hope the image above provides a suitable tease for what’s to come!
